Chase, 2, runs inside from front porch just to tell me
"I'm going back outside Mom!"
That's kinda like some peoples' prayer life...

Grill Master Mighty White- Netta's NICHE
The grill calls to me.... it taunts me to try new things!
So, I've given in this summer.
Besides the regular grilled chicken, and ham
and pineapple kababs & fat french fries, we've also made pizza.
(Just because it's summer doesn't mean we can just
abandon our "Finger Food Friday" tradition!)
Regular sized pizza.
Single serving sized pizzas.
and pizza turnovers (small calzones!).
Success!
Sweet Success!
(The little calzones are the family's fav of all
grilled pizza-type foods. We dipped'um in
some spaghetti sauce for added yummy-ness!)
I'm still planning to grill some fruit and
possibly even try to make some kinda dessert! mmm
It's starting to feel like just about anything can be
made on the GRiLL!

Just add Water!
While many of my friends out there in blog-land
and other states across the US are sending
their kids to school this week,
we in MICHIGAN don't begin school until after
Labor Day- it's the law!
(and we make our homeschool schedule similar to the public school.)
So, regardless of our weather (it's rainy today)
it's STILL SUMMER IN MICHIGAN!
Summer! Kids! Water!
Those 3 words go well together.
This summer we've enjoyed fountains,
the small, inexpensive water park,
kiddies pools,
free city beach,
squirt gun fights,
homemade backyard water parks!
Just about any activity in the summer
gets better when you add water....
any form.
Just add water!
We used a "noodle", poked holes in it, put the
hose inside of it and hung it from the top of our swing set.
(The swing set idea came together because of our neighbor!
Thanks, Mr. Tom!)
And, of course the classic...
Put the kiddie pool at the end
of the slide!

The Miracle has Happened!
For months we've been praying for miracles...
and it's happened! THANK YOU, JESUS!
I'm going to post what my husband put up on
his blog... he said it well...
"Friends, for several months I’ve been talking about,
praying about and hinting about our next church
plant in midtown Detroit. We have been believing
for God to miraculously provide a place for us.
Well… (drum roll please)…
Yes, that’s right, God is providing us a church right on one
of the main intersections of Detroit’s midtown area. It’s right
across the street from Wayne State University
(over 30,000 students) and also part of the
Woodbridge area of the city.
(Netta's note: This web link says it's a "street car suburb...
it's NOT...it's IN Detroit. )
Here’s the miracle: It’s being provided to us for FREE –
not to use, rent or borrow but to OWN!
God has laid it on a man’s heart to purchase this property for us!
It includes a large auditorium, 12 apartments,
office building, 3-story school, gymnasium, parking lot and more!
We hope to sign papers this week and then close 30 days after that…
our projected opening will be October 10, 2009
– yes, THIS FALL – which is the 5 year anniversary of Real Church.
I’ll share more stories and video with you in the near future.

I’ll also share opportunities for you to get involved in helping us

– equipment, construction, finances
-cleaning/painting, prayer, outreach, etc. – plus, PEOPLE!
Maybe God will lay it upon your heart to join us right here in the city!
Post high school students should check out Xmin Academy

new church community – stay connnected at: Real Church online!

The Blue book has new home!
The Winner of this book is
SONYA! She's right!
Sometimes we just have to
say "Later" to some of our
"tasks" cuz they're not really
as important as we'd like
to think.
Aside from spending
time with JESUS and reading
THE WORD, reading a good
book can be a HUGE sanity-saver!
I'll be getting this out to
you ASAP, Sonya!
Thanks, friends, for reading
& commenting on my blog!

Menu Plan Monday, Aug. 10, 2009
Our 2nd week of posting our Menu for the
week on the blog. It was kinda funny-
as I was preparing meals I'd think, "If
anyone wants to know what I'm cooking
right now, they can just look on my blog."
Kinda weird.
Michigan weather changed from sorry 70's to
sweltering mid 90's. So, we're planning food
than does NOT involve the OVEN! (That
means I'm NOT making my own bread, either.)
MONDAY
Lunch- Thin Pancakes, Berries, Scrambled Eggs
Dinner- Grilled Chicken, Noodles, Veggie Salad
TUESDAY
Lunch- Spaghetti, Mtblls & Sauce in Crockpot
Crusty Bread & fresh cucumber & carrots
Dinner- Grilled Potatoes & Fresh Veggies
WEDNESDAY
Lunch- Grilled sausage & Veggies, Rice
Dinner- Turkey Sandwiches, chips
THURSDAY
Lunch- Birds Nests, fruit
Dinner- PB & J, pineapple, chips
FRIDAY
Lunch- T. Ham & Ramon Noodles
w/peas, onions
Dinner- Grilled Pizza
SATURDAY
Lunch- Monte Cristo Sandwiches

SUNDAY
Lunch- Crockpot Corn & Spinach Enchiladas

Blue Like Play Dough- FREE BOOK
I'm a Mom... of 5.
A toddler
A pre-schooler
An elementary-age
A Jr. Higher
A High Schooler
And I love to read...so reading for pleasure falls way
down on the "to-do" list. BUT...
I got a great book... TWO actually.
One to read, One to GIVE ... maybe to YOU!
I flipped through it.
I got sucked in.
It's easy to read.
Interesting.
It won't take me long to devour it.
Below is the summary from the publishing company.
Do you want it the FREE copy?
Read the summary & then tell me how you make
time to read. I'll give the book away on Wed. Aug. 12th.
SUMMARY; In the everyday stretch and squeeze of motherhood,
Tricia Goyer often feels smooshed by the demands of life.
In Blue Like Play Dough, she shares her unlikely journey
from rebellious, pregnant teen to busy wife and mom with
big dreams of her own. As her story unfolds, Tricia realizes
that God has more in store for her than she has ever
imagined possible. Sure, life is messy and beset by doubts.
But God keeps showing up in the most unlikely places–
in a bowl of carrot soup, the umpteenth reading of
Goodnight Moon, a woe-is me teen drama,
or play dough in the hands of a child.
In Tricia’s transparent account, you’ll find understanding,
laughter, and strength for your own story.
And in the daily push and pull, you’ll learn to recognizes
the loving hands of God at work in your life…
and know He has something beautiful in mind.
Ok, tell me how you make time to read.

CAUTION!
Character always wins out over potential!
Your talent, abilities, training, connections
mean NOTHING if you're not actively
pursuing a deeper relationship with JESUS
and allowing His Holy Spirit to develop
the character of CHRIST in you!
If you're not purposely making choices
to KNOW Jesus then you're choosing
to move away from Him.
